So, should I start looking at flight numbers already?

Out of fears of disruption and price spikes due to the Great Sporting Event (feh), we've just booked our tickets - almost 9 months in advance. Flight numbers are:

There: NZ0446, leaves Wellington 15:00, arrives 16:00
Back: NZ0467, leaves Auckland 19:00, arrives 20:00

The website was saying there were fewer than 5 tickets at the $59 rate, so you might want to get in quick.

Good idea, and thanks for the reminder. They still had the $59 tickets when I booked.

So that's 5 people for the posse, and its only January.

Next step: finish writing game.

Fare's still seem to be $59. If that can last another couple of weeks I might get tickets...

Also, there's a sporting event?

Yes, but as a sporting atheist I have No Official Cogniscance of that.

Sport is waiting, ready for you to embrace its love. It knows you're not ready, and that doesn't matter to it.

Yay! It would be awesome to have you.

To reiterate some of the things I said at Kapcon to tempt more Wellington folk up for Chimera:

* Free on-site accommodation with loads of friendly larpers
* Tasty on-site catering in the region of $30 for a weekend's worth of hot meals
* All games are designed to be accessible to folk from out of town, so you don't need to be part of the Auckland "scene" to get into it
* There's plenty of different styles: we got White Wolf, we got live-action combat, we got theatreform, Nordic abstract, we got it all.
* There are many modern-plain-clothes options for the costume-challenged. In addition, we're really happy to lend you costume as well. Just ask, we'd rather lend you our kit than have you miss out.

And if there are any other concerns, or questions, please ask, I'm more than happy to answer them!

I'm playing with the idea of coming up to Chimera this year, though it may only be for the Saturday (family and non gaming friends to visit).

Is just coming for one day and the flagship viable? Do other people do it?

Yeah the more I think about it the more likely I am to come up too. However I think flying will be the way I go, less need for leave.

Yep - you can come for only one day and the flagship larp. There are certainly others who do that. You pay less as well.

Yep, this is all good, Saturday-only is a reasonably common occurence. It means you play in 3 games - Sat morning, Sat afternoon and Flagship and as Daphne says, is slightly cheaper than the full con.
