An e-mail went out a while ago informing people that the WARGS meeting on Sunday 16th March. As this is the AGM, there is the opportunity to run for one of the committee positions.

I am motivated enough to want to run for one of these positions but would like to know a few things before the meeting. Namely;

What positions are available?
Who the incumbent for each position is

By posting this here I am hoping that anyone else who has the same interest in WARGS gets the same information.

Anyway, I hope to see people at the meeting on 16th and when I put my hand up for something please vote for me as I am keen to get on the WARGS committee.

Thanks
Jonathan

There is an exec of 5 people.

The positions are

President (Paul)

Basic responsibility to keep things running and make deal with any big problems.

Secretary/Treasurer (Nasia)

I need to keep an eye on the finances, pay any bills, collect memberships and buy the nibbles for WARGS meetings.

General Exec (Grant, Susan and Brett)

Need to turn up to meetings and occasionally take on other jobs or vote on things eg Grant sends out the monthly e-mails and Susan opens the shop even though they are technically closed on all other Sundays.

As a whole the WARGS exec needs to make sure the meetings happen and make sure the WARGS run events such as CONfusion happen each year. Other event ideas are of course welcome and even better if there is someone on the exec willing to take charge of them.

I hope that was helpful.

Hugs

Nasia

Thanks Nasia,

This is really helpful and gives a perspective of what’s required from the people on the WARGS exec.

I think everyone has been doing a great job already. Hopefully I am not offending the existing memebers of the exec by saying I would like to be on the General Exec too.

Thanks for the information and see you on the 16th.

Smile Thanks for the nomination Luke, its really appreciated. My original plan was to jump up and down yelling "pick me, pick me!"

Dang, I was hoping that people may know who I am.
For those that don't know me already, my name is Jonathan (or Jonny, or "that guy that hangs around with Nita"). I have been trying to make it regularly to WARGS since it started being on a Sunday afternoon, so even if you don't know me by name you may have seen me around.

If you are the Luke I am thinking of, I played in the Star Wars game that you ran at WARGS around six(ish) months ago. (If not then there is another guy called Luke who ran a Star Wars game at WARGS about six(ish) months ago. It was a fun game.)

Anyway, thanks again. Being endorsed by another WARGS member makes me feel like my intention to run is now legitimised.

Speaking of which, I wish to Second Jonnies Nomination Smile

Mash: we generally get 10-15, with quite a few people turning up for the initial meeting, then generally 2-3 groups of people playing games. Usually my ShadowRun Missions game will have 4-5 (Including myself, and excluding exceptional situations like last weeks game with 7 players + me), Nasia, Susan and others usually are involved in a board game of maybe 4-6 players. Paul, Jonny and others either play boardgames or play in one-off games.

I think the poorest recent turnout was December with 8, and the best recent turnout was probably last month with about 18 around for the meeting.

Cheers
Grant

I believe we have had over 20 once, but I cant remember which month.

Last month we did have a great turn out with enough peopel for Grants huge Shadowrun game and two groups playing boardgames. This actually included a couple of new peopel which is always great to have.

Hugs
