An adventure worthy of our noble and chivalrous heroes awaits....
The Carnelian Opera House is soon to reopen, and Msr. Moncharmin has
announced that a grand affair is to be held in celebration of this
fortuitous cultural event, that event being the obscene fortune he
expects to make as manager and now owner of the Varne's most lucrative
To celebrate his cultural coup, the wealthy merchant has invited
everyone who matters in Carnelian to his sumptuous manor in the near
Rouille. Elves, merchants, Royalists, lords of the land- all are
invited to the grand masquerade. Rumour has it that Baron Kurios
himself is to be in attendance. And so shall the fallen opera singer
Marissa Lychgrove, sans Erik and newly rechristened "Daphne Striata".
The wealth and glamour of the crowned republic is to be laid out in
And that's where you come in. Nathaniel Alexandrè, always the
proverbial "one nice guy in the Varne", wishes to give you one more
chance to show your worth, not to mention provide some hope that some
happy day a true adventurer will actually pay him enough to afford
real paper and ink. He's managed to acquire a set of forged
invitations which should allow you inside the mansion. Your quest:
blend in with the guests, find out what Daphne is up to, and rob
the finest flower of Carnelian's nobility blind.
Line your pockets, find patrons and contacts, and uncover the secret
purposes of the powers-that-be. And perhaps even make it out alive.
Rumour has it that there's a taint in the air, and someone is going to
die. Come in bright costume with your rapier and whatever else you
can conceal upon you, plus Nathaniel's bag of holding. The
poor young gentleman begs that you return it in reasonable condition,
and topped up with loot enough to win the favour of Fortune. Or at
least pay last week's rent.
Open to the first five players who wish to join, with preference given
to veteran adventurers. Characters with respect for property and
propriety will be given their own special mission suitable to their
ethical and political alignments. The powerful meet in jest, but
there is deadly seriousness in it too.
