|I've had the Spycraft 2nd edition rules laying around for sometime and frequently wanted to try them. To me they look like an evolved DnD 3.5 rule set. The problem is they're fairly complex rules, but I'd like to give them a go.
I need 2-3 players who won't have a problem making a leap from d20 3.5 mechanics. I work very close to Wargames Supply in the CBD so that may be a natural location. I commute to Lower Hutt and the nice weather could make for some fun garage gaming as an option.
You can get the PDF of Spycraft fairly cheaply if you are so inclined. It's far too large for me to print off, but I would print out useful sections on request.
Key features I'm interested in seeing are:
Car chase rules based on predator/prey strategies without any speed/distance calculations.
Gear selection system which defines the scope of "balanced" gear to a mission.
Skill system that allows critical sucess as well as critical failure.
Combat based on vitality/wound system.
I won't be too fancy with the scenario. Players will be working for a shadow organization which has an interest in stealing an object. The setting is the modern world in all its glory.
At the moment I'm looking to see if anyone has an interest in this play test.
We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
