Hey people, I just got prompted by my fone about last years Day of Games, it must have been around this time, I can't find mention of it for this year, and how about Confusion? As well as Kapcon, I kinda liked the low key vibe from the smaller cons, are they still alive and kicking? Eugene

BTW, this place is spookily quiet, my spider sense would definitely be tingling game wise...

I just wish to ditto this. No time to organise it or work out who to take over.

they were great cons and relatively fun for low key stuff and a great way to get to meet people who are new or try out new games.

I still check in most days. I might post a thing to see what people are up to.

Day of Games has lost two organisers to Auckland, and nobody has stepped in to take over.

ConFusion did run last year, but with not much notice or attendance. Not sure what's going to happen there.

My spider sense is no longer tingling, warm feelings abound.. might be a cool opportunity to play next editions of MotW and Left Coast?

I proposed that the two conventions combine into a new con called Days of Confusion, given how much they have ended up having in common. However, that suggestion met with mild resistance by the organisers of both at the time IIRC.

I haven't heard any plans for the cons to be picked back up, but they are likely to be open for anyone who steps forward to do it. On saying that, the space for such cons has shrunk, due to an increase in alternatives rather than a decrease in attendees.

I feel like the problem is more one of getting the message out than a lack of people who are interested.

Its too late to do DoG this year, but its not too late to do ConFusion. And there's a lovely blank space in early August which the larpers haven't bagged yet.

If you want to keep using the name, I'd recommend talking to Ellen out of politeness. Or just use a different one.
